Associate in Arts - Psychology Transfer Pathway

This degree program is designed to allow you to complete required general education courses and introductory psychology courses for your intended program of study at a college or university. This transfer program is intended for students seeking to complete a bachelor's degree or higher in psychology. Program Requirements Meeting the Michigan Transfer Agreement

Students wishing to fulfill the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) must successfully complete at least 30 credits from the MTA Approved List with a minimum of a “C” (2.0) in each course. Students are encouraged to consult with a Student Success Advisor about proper course selections based on transfer destination and career goals.

English Composition

Any College Composition I course from approved list below
Any College Composition II course from approved list below

Approved College Composition I courses are ENG 111A , ENG 111B , ENG 111C , ENG 111H , or ENG 111 .

Approved College Composition II courses are ENG 112A , ENG 112H , ENG 112 , ENG 113 , ENG 211H , or ENG 211 .

Humanities

Any COM course from the MTA Approved List
Additional Humanities elective from the MTA Approved List

Humanities courses must be from two different subjects.

Note: COM 112W is recommended.

Social Sciences

Foundational Civics - Any History course HIS 237W or below or any Political Science course POL 232W or below from approved list found on the Foundational Civics page
PSY 211W

Social Science courses must be from two different subjects.

Note: HIS 237W or POL 105HW /POL 105W are recommended because they satisfy both the foundational civics and the civic engagement graduation requirements.

Natural Science

Any Natural Science course with lab from the MTA Approved List
Any Natural Science course with or without lab from the MTA Approved List

Natural Science courses must be from two different subjects.

Note: BIO 111W is recommended as the lab course.

Mathematics

Any Mathematics course from the MTA Approved List

Note: MTH 208AW /MTH 208W or MTH 209AW /MTH 209HW /MTH 209W is recommended. Students are encouraged to consult with a Student Success Advisor about proper course selections based on transfer destination and career goals.

Civic Engagement

Any Civic Engagement option from approved list below

Approved options are:

A course that includes the civic engagement project in its outcomes and objectives - These courses are HIS 237W , IHU 120W /SSI 120W , IHU 240W /SSI 240W , JRN 111W , or POL 105HW /POL 105W .

A Civic Engagement project (1 credit) - A faculty member must supervise this project, either as a project tied to a course, or as individualized instruction.

A designated Service Learning course across the curriculum - SL will appear after the course designation.

HIS 237W and POL 105HW /POL 105W will satisfy both the Foundational Civics and Civic Engagement graduation requirements.

Lifelong Wellness

Complete a minimum of 2 credits in any set of Lifelong Wellness course options from the Lifelong Wellness page

Students with special considerations for exercise should reach out to the course instructor, program coordinator, and/or Office of Disability Resources for exercise accommodations when appropriate. The Lifelong Wellness Activity (LWA) 1 credit class can be waived with a full season of intercollegiate athletics validated by the Athletic Director.
