DMS 107L - Introduction to Ultrasound Scanning LabCredits: 1.5 Instructional Contact Hours: 2
Provides an introduction to sonographic imaging. Teaches basic operations of the ultrasound machine along with transducer orientation and imaging scan planes. DMS 107 grade will be the same as DMS 107L grade.
Prerequisite(s): Validation and successful clinical entry to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Corequisite(s): DMS 100 , DMS 105W , DMS 108W , DMS 107 Lecture Hours: 0 Lab Hours: 22.5 Meets MTA Requirement: None Pass/NoCredit: No
Outcomes and Objectives
- Demonstrate proficiency in obtaining basic abdominal images for interpretation.
- Obtain satisfactory images for interpretation for the following anatomy:
- Aorta
- SMA
- Celiac
- IVC
- Gallbladder
