This program will provide you education and skill training for service technicians in the Refrigeration, Heating, and Air Conditioning Service Industry. Technicians on the job are needed to test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and sell the wide range of mechanical and electrical appliances and components in this field.

Notations


  1. A Grade of “C” (2.0) or higher is required in HVAC 136 , HVAC 150 , HVAC 210W , HVAC 230 , and HVAC 235 , which are also key courses and must be completed within 5 years of completing the certificate. Failure to complete within the stated time frame will require you to repeat this course. See Academic Policies and Information /Graduation Requirements .
  2. Prior to enrollment, you must have an ASSET score of 38 (Elementary Algebra), 31 (Intermediate Algebra), or 28 (College Algebra) or an ACT score of 19 in Math, or COMPASS score of 41 (Algebra). You are advised to take MTH 097  if your algebra skills are weak.
    1. ENG 111A ; ENG 111B ; ENG 111C ; or ENG 111H  can be taken in place of ENG 111  
    2. Any approved Intermediate Algebra course or higher can be taken in place of MTH 119W  (except MTH 153 )
    3. CST 134  can be taken in place of CST 133W  
    4. Any 1 credit LW course AND any 1 credit LWA course can be taken in place of LW 223W  
    5. POL 105W  , POL 212W , POL 215W , POL 220W , POL 221W , POL 223W , POL 225W , POL 228W , HIS 221W , HIS 222W , or HIS 237W  can be taken in place of POL 103W
