The industrial technology major for teachers includes coursework to develop technical competence in the technical core of Manufacturing, Construction, Communications, and Power/Energy. It also includes a professional core of coursework directly related to teaching technology to children and youth in public schools of Michigan.

- ENG 111A , ENG 111B , ENG 111C , or ENG 111H can be taken in place of ENG 111
- ENG 113 , ENG 112A , or ENG 112H can be taken in place of ENG 112
- POL 105W , POL 212W , POL 215W , POL 220W , POL 221W , POL 223W , POL 225W , POL 228W , HIS 221W , HIS 222W , or HIS 237W can be taken in place of POL 103W
- DRF 104 or DRF 105 can be taken in place of ARC 105
- ARC 114 can be taken in place of CAD 114
- WELD 108 can be taken in place of WELD 106
