Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs A-Z

Program Code: CTA.35916

This program generally prepares students to apply technical knowledge and skills in the adjustment, maintenance, part replacement, and repair of tools, equipment and machines. This Advanced Certificate can ladder directly into the Skilled Trades in Machine Repair and Mechanics Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS.60904). It can also help you be more competitive during your job search, as many of our region's employers use these same tracks as a part of their apprenticeship programs.  This Advanced Certificate includes three tracks;

Machine Builder - Construct, assemble, or rebuild machines, such as engines, turbines, and similar equipment used in such industries as construction, extraction, textiles, and paper manufacturing.

Machine Repairer - Industrial Maintenance Mechanic - Repair, install, adjust, or maintain industrial production and processing machinery or refinery and pipeline distribution systems. May also install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to plans.

Millwright - Install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings.

Delta College does not issue a journeyperson’s card and does not provide placement into employment or an apprenticeship program. Hiring and placement in apprenticeship programs is at the discretion of employers.
