This degree program is designed to allow you to complete required general education courses and introductory psychology courses for your intended program of study at a college or university. The transfer program is intended for students seeking to complete a bachelor's degree or higher in psychology. It is important to consult with a Student Success Advisor on proper course selections to align with your ultimate transfer or career goals. Fulfilling the required thirty credit (30) core courses may meet the requirements for the MTA (Michigan Transfer Agreement) articulation agreement.

Program Requirements Meeting the Michigan Transfer Agreement
Students wishing to fulfill the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) must successfully complete at least 30 credits of MTA approved courses with a minimum of a “C” (2.0) or better in each course. Students are encouraged to consult with a Student Success Advisor about course selection based on transfer destination. English Composition
- ENG - Any approved College Composition I Course
- ENG - Any approved College Composition II Course
Note: ENG 111 College Composition I and ENG 112 College Composition II are recommended.
Humanities
Note: COM 112W Public Speaking is recommended. Humanities courses must be from two different subjects.
Social Sciences
- PSY 211W Introduction to Psychology
- Foundational Civics - Any Political Science course POL 232W or below, or any History course HIS 237W or below
Note: POL 105W American Politics with Project or HIS 237W History of Michigan with Project are recommended because they fulfill both the foundational civics and the civic engagement graduation requirement. Social Science courses must be from two different subjects.
Natural Sciences
Note: BIO 111W Principles of Biology is recommended as the lab course. Natural Science courses must be from two different subjects.
Mathematics
Note: MTH 209W Statistics is recommended.
Additional Degree Requirements
Civic Engagement
- Any Civic Engagement option from approved list below
Approved options are:
A course that includes the civic engagement project in its outcome and objectives - These courses are POL 105W , HIS 237W , IHU 120W /SSI 120W , IHU 240W /SSI 240W , or JRN 111W .
OR
A Civic Engagement project (1 credit) - A faculty member must supervise this project, either as a project tied to a course, or as individualized instruction.
OR
A designated Service Learning course across the curriculum - SL will appear after the course designation.
POL 105W and HIS 237W will satisfy both the Foundational Civics and Civic Engagement graduation requirements.
Lifelong Wellness
Note: LW 221W - Fitness and Wellness is recommended.
Major Courses
Psychology transfer students are required to take the following psychology courses at Delta College. Students must earn a “C” (2.0) or better in PSY 211W Introduction to Psychology before taking psychology major courses.
Additional Electives
Additional electives as needed to earn the 62 credit hours required for an Associate in Arts Degree. Elective courses may be taken from psychology or other disciplines. Consult with a Student Success Advisor about additional psychology course selections based on your transfer destination.
Notations
A. Students wishing to fulfill the Michigan Transfer Agreement must successfully complete at least 30 credits of MTA approved courses, with a minimum of a “C” (2.0) or better in each course.
B. POL 105W and HIS 237W will satisfy both the Foundational Civics and Civic Engagement graduation requirements.
C. Students with special considerations for exercise should reach out to the course instructor, program coordinator, and/or Office of Disability Resources for exercise accommodations when appropriate. The Lifelong Wellness Activity (LWA) 1 credit class can be waived with a full season of intercollegiate athletics validated by the Athletic Director.
