RT 244 - Optional Rotation/Special Project

Provides an opportunity to choose a rotation or special project to meet their personal goals in the field of respiratory care. Emphasizes the design, completion, and summarization of the project.

Prerequisite(s): RT 207 , RT 212 , RT 214 , RT 216 , RT 226 , RT 229 , RT 231   each with a minimum grade of “C”
Corequisite(s): RT 211 , RT 234 , RT 240 , RT 246

Outcomes and Objectives  

  1. Demonstrate the ability to plan, initiate and complete a Respiratory Care project.
    1. Design a rotation or project to meet their personal needs, dealing with any aspect of respiratory care. Examples of projects would be:
      1. An educational presentation made to an outside group.
      2. A multidisciplinary educational project with other health care students.
      3. A management rotation with one of the local department directors.
      4. An expanded or special clinical rotation.
    2. Complete the project/rotation based on course guidelines.
    3. Write and submit an acceptable summary report, based on course guidelines, of their project/rotation.
