- Examine the history of the region in broad terms.
- Visit significant historical sites in the region.
- Describe and discuss the significance of these sites to the history and culture of the region.
- Examine the political structures and practice of the region.
- Read assigned material to understand past and current political structures and practice as they relate to the region.
- Discuss specific timely topics.
- Examine the macro economy of the region.
- Read assigned materials to gain an understanding of the effects globalization has had on the economic, political and social institutions of the country.
- Discuss the "upside" and the "downside" of globalization in general and regionally.
- Discuss specific timely topics.
- Present views and encourage the members of the class to respond--to the specific topic assigned and covered in tutorial with instructor.
- Apply broad principles of sociology and psychology to demonstrate understanding of culture, customs, and practices of the region.
- Analyze cross-culturally social issues and human behavior of the region.
