Outcomes and Objectives
  1. Because a boiler has the potential to become very dangerous, we advise the student what symptoms to look for that could lead to dangerous conditions.
    1. Identify the on board limit switches to protect the boiler and burner.
    2. Because the boiler’s life blood is water, the student will understand how to determine the quality of water that is necessary for the boiler’s survival.
    3. Because the boiler can be a hazard to the community, the community (the State of Michigan) enacted laws and rules to protect the state and help the boiler operator. The student will be able to prepare the boiler for the annual inspection.
    4. The student will be able to conduct a CSD-1 test (Control and Safety Devices) for the boiler insurer.
