Outcomes and Objectives
  1. Determine a patient's disease process by manifestations observed.
    1. Define the pathology terms associated with disease.
    2. Define and explain the role of signs and symptoms to pathology diagnosis.
    3. Identify indications for a radiographic procedure to diagnose pathology.
    4. List examples of the following causes of disease:
      1. pathological
      2. traumatic
      3. surgical
      4. genetic
      5. Describe the difference between acute and chronic disease.
      6. List examples of both acute and chronic disease.
      7. Define growth disturbances and tissue disruption.
      8. Define and explain the additive and degenerative changes radiographically that appear in disease.
      9. Explain the healing process and complications to this process.
  2. Recognize pathologies associated with each body system.
    1. Describe the basic manifestations of pathological conditions and their relevance to radiologic procedures.
    2. Describe imaging procedures and interventional techniques appropriate for the diagnosis of diseases of the following systems:
      1. skeletal
      2. respiratory
      3. circulatory
      4. digestive/biliary
      5. genitourinary
      6. reproductive
      7. endocrine
      8. nervous
    3. Describe the various disease classifications in terms of etiology, types, common sites, signs, symptoms, complications, prognosis, and treatment for each of the following systems:
      1. skeletal
      2. respiratory
      3. circulatory
      4. digestive/biliary
      5. genitourinary
      6. reproductive
      7. endocrine
      8. nervous
    4. Identify various pathological conditions on radiographs
  3. Successfully read, interpret and organize information and put into written form.
    1. Identify relevant written sources.
    2. Select appropriate information from sources.
    3. Draw relevant conclusions from the sources.
    4. Organize a written paper to interpret the information.
