PTA 120L - Orthopedic Rehabilitation LabCredits: 1 Instructional Contact Hours: 4
Provides entry-level technical skills needed to administer rehabilitation exercise programs for orthopedic conditions. Prepares the student to perform physical therapy intervention as part of a physical therapist's plan of care, under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist.

Outcomes and Objectives
- Demonstrate peripheral joint mobilizations for the shoulder, wrist, hip, and ankle.
- Identify and describe joint end feel.
- Assess gliding motions of the shoulder, wrist, hip, and ankle joints.
- Perform Grades I & II peripheral joint mobs.
- Perform appropriate methods of management and rehabilitation for select orthopedic diagnoses of the shoulder in accordance with the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
- Discuss potential treatment methods for the identified injuries of the shoulder.
- Determine the need for progression in an exercise program designed for the shoulder.
- Demonstrate various special tests as they relate to common orthopedic problems of the shoulder.
- Indicate various contraindications for exercise as they relate to common orthopedic problems of the shoulder.
