PTA 120L - Orthopedic Rehabilitation LabCredits: 1 Provides entry-level technical skills needed to administer rehabilitation exercise programs for orthopedic conditions. Prepares the student to perform physical therapy intervention as part of a physical therapist's plan of care, under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist.

Outcomes and Objectives 1. Demonstrate an entry-level knowledge of the concepts of peripheral joint mobilizations for the shoulder, wrist, hip, and ankle.
A. Identify and describe joint end-range feel.
B. Assess gliding motions of the shoulder, wrist, hip, and ankle joints.
C. Perform Grades I & II peripheral joint mobs.
2. Perform appropriate methods of management and rehabilitation for select orthopedic diagnoses of the shoulder in accordance with the plan of care established by the physical therapist.

13. Utilize aquatherapy effectively and safely as directed by the PT plan of care.
A. Effectively communicate the sensation of pool therapy to a patient.
B. Perform a physical therapy treatment aquatherapy program based on a plan of care by the supervising PT.
C. Utilize various aquatherapy equipment used in physical therapy for strengthening, stretching,
tone reduction, and patient mobilization.
D. Perform various treatment techniques given specific patient problems in the pool including stabilization, gait training, PROM, AAROM, RROM, and balance retraining.
