The Advanced Certificate program combines all-position plate and pipe welding using major weld processes including Gas Tungsten Arc Welding(TIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding(Stick), and Gas Metal Arc Welding(MIG). Students will have certification opportunities through The American Welding Society's SENSE Program.

Fall First Year:

WELD 114W - Intermediate Shielded Metal Arc Welding Credits: 8
WELD 235W - Gas Metal Arc Welding Credits: 8

Total Semester Credits: 16

Winter First Year:

WELD 103 - Introduction to Plasma, Carbon Arc, and Fuel Gas Cutting Credits: 3
WELD 224W - Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding Credits: 8
WELD 116 - Intermediate Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Credits: 8

Total Semester Credits: 19

Students following the guided pathway must meet with an academic advisor for permission to enroll in more than 18 credits in 1 semester.

A Grade of “C” (2.0) or higher is required in all courses for the certificate.
