Program Code: AAS.25775

An Associate of Applied Science in Human Services degree prepares our graduates to help people in crucial industries primarily concentrated in social and family services, community work, education, and healthcare workplaces including nursing homes, hospitals, and clinics. This degree prepares students for jobs as patient advocates and to help people who are vulnerable in our communities. Human Services is a quickly expanding field, with more than 2,000 jobs posted in Mid-Michigan annually, primarily in Saginaw County. A jobs analysis of our region found graduates with this associate's degree qualified to work with people navigating substance abuse and behavioral disorders, and to work as Social and Human Service Assistants, Social and Community Service Managers, and Community and Social Service Specialists.  This degree meets Michigan Transfer Agreement guidelines for students pursuing Social Work with our university partners.
