The Digital Forensics program is designed to give you specialized knowledge in digital forensics and the criminal justice field combined with a broad educational background.  The program offers theoretical, practical, and technical instruction designed to meet an ever-increasing demand for law enforcement, security, and correctional personnel who also maintain specialized training in digital forensics and cybercrime.  As a graduate of this program, you will be prepared to seek employment and perform specialized forensic work during your career as a police officer, corrections officer, conservation officer, juvenile officer, private security, detective, special agent, or continue your education to obtain work as a digital forensics examiner.

The Digital Forensics in Criminal Justice track is intended for those wishing to enter one of the criminal justice fields and desire specialized training in digital forensics and cyber-crime investigations or intend to transfer into a baccalaureate program in criminal justice or a related degree.

The Digital Forensics and Incident Response track is intended for those wishing to enter a career in computer science related fields of study such as malware analysis or network forensics or transfer into a baccalaureate program in digital forensics, cyber security, or a related degree.

Notations


  1. A grade of “C” (2.0) or higher is required in all CJ, CSI and CST courses.
  2. Employment within the Criminal Justice and Digital Forensics fields may be delayed or denied depending on a history of convictions involving felonies, misdemeanors, and/or involving controlled substances.
  3. Membership in InfraGard may be required as part of the program.
