The Child Development Certificate of Achievement prepares students for entry level positions and/or to apply for the CDA (Child development Associate) national credential. Additional preparation and fieldwork may be required.

These courses can be applied toward the advanced certificate or associate degree in Child Development.

The curriculum for the certificate is aligned with the standards issued by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Fall First Year

CD 111W - Introduction to Early Childhood Education Credits: 3
CD 113W - Child Guidance Strategies Credits: 4

Winter First Year

CD 115W - Introductory Preschool Practicum Credits: 3
CD 110W can be taken in place of CD 115W

Total Semester Credits: 3

Notations

Students pursuing the Certificate of Achievement only may have the pre-requisite to CD 115W waived.
Students completing the Child Development Advanced Certificate or The Child Development Associate Degree will be required to complete CD 112W .
