Provides a foundation for understanding applications and principles of Calibration and documentation tasks performed by a Process Instrumentation Technician. Addresses Calibration terminology, loop vs. individual Instrument Calibration, shop bench vs. process field Calibration, documentation and specific Calibration techniques.

- Define Loop Calibration vs. Individual Instrument Calibration advantages and disadvantages of each.
- Shop Bench Calibration vs. Process Field Calibration advantages and disadvantages of each
- Demonstrate ability on how to perform Bench Calibration
2. Demonstrate an understanding of Calibration Data Collection Integrity and terminology
- Understand and write Calibration procedures
- Define correct Calibration documentation
- Correctly fill out a Calibration data sheet
- Define P&IDs and Loop Diagrams as they relate to Calibration
- Define Manufactures Instrument Specifications as related to Calibration
- Define Calibration Intervals
- Define Safety Considerations as related to Calibration
3. Demonstrate understanding of the four-major process measured variables.
