CHM 112H - General and Inorganic Chemistry II - HonorsCredits: 5 Continuation of CHM 111 . Studies chemical equilibria in water, including ionization solubility, complexion, acid-base phenomena, and oxidation reducing equilibria. Discusses the principles of electrochemistry, chemical thermodynamics, chemical kinetics and special topics such as the descriptive study of metals and non-metals. Meets the needs of chemistry majors. Provides opportunities to engage in independent intellectual inquiry to foster deeper learning. Credit may be earned in CHM 112 or CHM 112H but not both.

C. Explain the processes of evaporation and condensation of a liquid or its vapor and use the enthalpy of vaporization in calculations.
D. Explain the processes of melting and freezing of a solid or its liquid and use the enthalpy of fusion in calculations.
