Outcomes and Objectives
- Student will be made aware that boilers cannot operate without auxiliary systems for air, exhaust, water, and fuel.
- Be able to identify problems occurring with pressure vessels of non-conventional (fired) boilers; be able to determine needs and possible remedial actions to insure proper draft conditions.
- Be able to start and operate feedwater heating deaerator (pressurized).
- Be able to start, stop, and monitor the operation of boiler fans, pumps, and drive turbines.
- Be able to test safety valves on steam boiler and hot water generators.
