Outcomes and Objectives
- The student will demonstrate the safe use of both hand and power carpentry tools.
- Safe use and setup of:
- Table saw
- Planer
- Radial arm saw
- Miter saw
- Shaper
- Router
- Student will apply terminology associated with the cabinet construction industry.
- Design and develop a cabinetry project identifying all joints and components using proper terminology.
- Student will plan and build a laminate build up.
- Develop a laminate project from design phase to completion.
- Student will plan and build a piece of furniture encompassing production techniques.
- Student will design and estimate production type cabinetry:
- Create a set of working drawings
- Produce a cut list
- Produce a production list
- Complete a cost estimate
- Build the order
- Finish the order
