PNE 122W - Care of the Adult ICredits: 6 Focuses on the study of pathophysiology and the disease process of the following body systems: Respiratory, cardiac, hemo-immune, perioperative, renal, neurological, and oncology. This theory course has a concurrent lab course. For successful completion, a grade of at least a “C” must be earned in this course and its concurrent lab course (lab grade will be same as theory grade).

Outcomes and Objectives
- Demonstrate Human Flourishing, Nursing Judgment, and Spirit of Inquiry while developing Professional Identity as a PN to improve the quality of care for patients, families and communities.
- Apply and uphold ethical and legal guidelines that relate to the LPN scope of practice.
- Analyze individual assessment data and its influence on the wellness-illness continuum.
- Document and explain relevant adult assessment data that includes pathophysiology, psychosocial and cultural needs.
- Collaborate and assist with the development of an individualized plan of care for the adult with realistic and measurable goals.
- Uphold professional behaviors outlined in the Nursing Handbook.
- Analyze personal strengths and weaknesses and demonstrate professional growth.
- Demonstrate safe performance of nursing skills and medication administration (per facility policy) in the provision of nursing care to 2-4 adults.
