A study is made of the construction of, the placement of, and installation procedures of cabinets used in residential and commercial building.

Outcomes and Objectives
  1. The student will demonstrate the safe use of both hand and power carpentry tools.
    1. Safe use and setup of:
      1. Table saw
      2. Planer
      3. Radial arm saw
      4. Miter saw
      5. Shaper
      6. Router
  2. Student will apply terminology associated with the cabinet construction industry.
    1. Design and develop a cabinetry project identifying all joints and components using proper terminology.
  3. Student will plan and build a laminate build up.
    1. Develop a laminate project from design phase to completion.
  4. Student will plan and build a piece of furniture encompassing production techniques.
    1. Student will design and estimate production type cabinetry:
      1. Create a set of working drawings
      2. Produce a cut list
      3. Produce a production list
      4. Complete a cost estimate
      5. Build the order
      6. Finish the order
