ET 103 - OSHA Safety and Michigan Electrical Laws

Introduces students to Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA), and Michigan Electrical Laws. Provides a basic understanding of the OSHA rules and regulations, and how to locate and apply published OSHA information. Covers requirements for compliance with the State of Michigan Model Training Program for related Technical Instruction (Referred to as RTI), for Apprentice Electricians as approved by the State Electrical Board on October 2, 2009. Credit may be earned in either ET 103 or SKEL 103  but not both.

    10. Identify and describe the major parts of the Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act 230 of 1972.
    11. Compare an Electrical Board report to the requirements of PA 217.
    12. Overview the history and purpose of the Michigan BUREAU OF CONSTRUCTION CODES.
    13. Identify and describe one technical bulletin from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
    14. Describe the purpose of Part 29 Labor Standards for the Registration of Apprenticeship Programs [29 CFR 29.5 - Standards of apprenticeship].
    15. Outline the major points found in Act 497 of 1980 - Construction Lein Fund-Electrical Administrative Board General Rules, Electrical Code Rules.
    16. Identify the general requirements for Compliance with the State of Michigan Model Training Program for related Technical Instruction {Referred to as RTI], for Apprentice Electricians as Approved by the state Electrical Board on October 2, 2009.
