Best Practices in Teaching and Learning, Part I is part of a 2-course series of professional development orientation required for all newly hired full-time faculty, which is offered in Fall semesters. Fulfills the DCFA CBA requirement to participate in a College orientation. Prepares new full-time faculty for participation in the wider College community. Acclimates new faculty to the campus community. Establishes a network of colleagues from a variety of campus workgroups. Informs new hires about services for faculty and students. Provides a forum in which to talk teaching. NOTE: Credit is only awarded once both EDU390AW and EDU 390BW are completed; students will receive a grade of “I” in the first course they take, which will remain until the second course in the series is completed.
