OAT 210 - Clinical Office Practice IICredits: 4 Instructional Contact Hours: 5
Provides the clinical opportunities to reach competencies of the Medical Assistant role in a medical practice. Presents topics such as phlebotomy, administration of medication, electrocardiography, assisting with minor surgery, and treatments. Practices the concepts of medical and surgical asepsis, and routine diagnostic tests and procedures. Requires 160 hours of on-site clinical experience.
Prerequisite(s): BIO 140W , HSC 105 , HSC 140 , HSC 205W , OAT 116 , OAT 159 , OAT 170 , OAT 209 , OAT 243 , and OAT 244 , with a minimum grade of "C" (2.0) in each or instructor approval.
