We’re going the distance… so you don’t have to.

Students today require learning flexibility and Delta College is committed to providing you with learning options that fit into your busy lifestyle. The Internet,Virtual Classrooms, and other technologies are making college degrees attainable through eLearning.

The advantages of eLearning courses are convenience and flexibility – not simplicity. Students must be highly motivated and disciplined to be successful in an eLearning course. Successful students communicate with their instructors regularly. Students are highly encouraged to access their virtual course sites and contact their instructors on the start date of the semester. If you would like to learn more, contact the Pioneer Connect Office at 989-686-9444 or by e-mail at advising@delta.edu.  For technical support or training for students and faculty regarding their course online, contact the eLearning Office by email at elearning@delta.edu or ticket at  https://deltacollege.online/web-form/

Delta College eLearning Course Options:

  • Blended Course / Classroom & Internet (CNET) A blended course requires both online activities and on-campus meeting times. Therefore, course material, assessments, and interactions between instructor and student(s) and between student and student(s) will be delivered through a combination of both online and classroom meeting, with specific times determined by the instructor. Dates for required classroom meetings and synchronous online meetings will be provided through Section Notes, the syllabus, or other communication. Furthermore, the course may require that assessments, whether online or in the classroom, be taken in an approved proctored location or with proctoring or a monitoring software/service.
  • Online Course / Independent Online (INET) vs Scheduled Online (SNET) An online course delivers 100% of the material/content/assessments online but may require that assessments be taken using a proctoring/monitoring software/service. - Independent online sections (INET) will allow students the flexibility to interact with material and content on their own, individual schedules while still meeting due dates prescribed by the instructor. - Scheduled online sections (SNET) will require students to meet online on specific days and times. These virtual meeting times will be determined by the instructor. Dates/times for virtual classroom meetings will be provided through Section Notes, the syllabus, or other communication.
  • MCO – Michigan Colleges Online (MCO) is a collaboration between Michigan community colleges that allow Delta College students to take eLearning courses from other community colleges in Michigan. If a specific course is not available at Delta College, you may find comparable courses through MCO at https://www.micollegesonline.org. Check with your Student Success Advisor to make sure the course credit will transfer back to Delta College.
