Welcome to Delta College, new Pioneer!
I am so glad you have decided to join our community of big thinkers at one of America's leading community colleges. You'll quickly learn that we are focused on helping you realize your dream job and providing the support to get you there. Your professors, advisors and counselors are dedicated to helping you complete your program of study, whether that leads to an associate's degree, a pathway to a four-year university or immediate employment.
Whatever your path, when you graduate from Delta, you’ll be ready. And when you start this year, we’ll be ready to greet you with online, in-person and blended courses, as well as important protocols to keep our on-campus environment safe and comfortable.
As you will see very soon, there is something special at Delta that connects our students, faculty members, staff members and alumni. You’ll see it in your classrooms. You’ll discover it in the hallways and when you interact with your professors. As a new student, you’ll soon discover that all Pioneers share similar traits: a readiness to learn, a willingness to embrace new ideas and a drive to succeed.
You’ll find Delta graduates working in Michigan and throughout the world as nurses, teachers, physical therapy assistants, machine operators, business leaders and skilled trades people, just to name a few. Before you know it, you’ll be a member of this group!
I will retire this year, and as I write this last welcome message, I’m reminded of how I felt as a first-year college student. It was exhilarating and challenging, and always thrilling to experience a new environment, make new friends and learn every day. I hope you feel the same during your time at Delta College.
