PTA 110 - Fundamentals of Patient Mobility

Introduces basic principles of patient mobility. Focuses on the analysis of gait, gait training, use of assistive devices, patient transfers, postural assessment, balance and flexibility.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to PTA program.

  1. Recognize the importance of vital signs in regard to exercise.
    1. List normal values for vital signs.
    2. Define hypertension and hypotension.
  2. Describe proper body mechanics and lifting techniques.
